Containerized Particulate

Field recordings for you. Or whoever.

I’ve been testing out the Sony PCM D50 lately, and it actually sounds pretty great. The fact that the mics can rotate is a bit of a gimmick if you ask me, as it only seems to mess up the stereo image and introduce phase problems into my recordings. Also, a wind screen is absolutely necessary; luckily, my scrap of nylon legging seems to be working about as well as I could hope. These minor gripes aside, the thing kills, and I’m really excited to get the hang of working with it.

Recordings will be finding their way to my Freesound account, here. Enjoy?
